OurPath (formerly SSN) Open Forum / straight spouse network

Well, I thought I'd check it out - first I wrote my original question - why do straight women marry gay men - into google and see what happened. Then I tried a different phrase - help, I've just found out my husband is gay.

same result, I went through three pages of google and this site does not show.

There is a lot more stuff since I went looking and found The Straight Spouse Network on the first page but these days you get met with the AI overview which is as you would expect and no straight spouse forums at all.

I ask again - can we restore the name of this form, my personal belief is that One Path would only benefit if they promoted the original name of this forum first.

Yep tried it.. put in my my wife may not be straight my wife is having is gay affair.. Our Path does not come up ..I went 3 to 4 pages in the results.

Not sure if its the site name but it looks like the words "straight" and "gay" have been taken away or disassociated from it. Maybe they offended someone.

Did find some reddit forums...Late bloomer lesbians or such. So maybe there are support groups and play books on how to cheat on your spouse...

It seems to me that with the inclusion (fuck I dislike that word) of "trans" and "partner of trans" in the description of
Ourpath (a totally unnecessary add-on in my opinion) the site is now no longer for just straight people.

The word "straightspouse" tells a straightspouse immediately that he or she belongs here.
Ourpath sounds like a church, and the word "trans" has become a red flag. It says to people "be careful what you say and to who you say it to"

oh goodness I hadn't noticed they'd changed the banner. That sentence doesn't even make sense!

Pathetic isn't it. Why not support the straight spouse forum - it's not just a charity status, it's actually something real - they'd do better financially simply by bringing more traffic to their door.

hi Walkby, nice to see you again - not sure if you mean the initial change or this latest one but the initial change came with the change of ownership of this site.

I have only my own suppositions no facts but I believe OurPath underestimates the value of the term Straight Spouse Network even though they bought it. they bought a charity rating. They might be attempting to increase the visibility of their brand but I find that hard to believe these days seeing as it has become clear that without giving this forum the name Straight Spouse Network this forum loses visibility in Google and how does that help their branding.

so yes doesn't make sense from my very limited perspective on OurPath and I am left to file it in the bulging folder labelled sweeping straights under the carpet. sad state of affairs really

The name of the site..I think they can call it whatever they want but believe they could still give it tags so the search engines find it when someone types in "my husband might be gay" or "I think my wife is not straight". Could be wrong though.

With the inclusion of trans in blurb under Ourpath I can only think it's to further the ideology into society. Trans want to be seen as the opposite sex. What better way to do it than infiltrate a straight community website

Rob if that is possible then why aren't they doing it? Doesn't the new owner, OurPath care? why buy this site, and then hinder it? I can't see any logical reason for making it harder to find this forum.

And this new adjustment, adding the bit about trans partners completely muddies the waters as far as any straight spouses are concerned. I read it and it seems to be saying this forum is for trans partners.
