The only good thing that came out of my 24 year marriage is my daughter. It’s been a rough week as my ex husband has decided to go public with his new boyfriend. He was spotted at a brewery being quite handsy with his new man. What pisses me off is that he doesn’t even like beer. The brewery is right down the street from my home. I have frequented this establishment due to the fact it’s dog friendly and I can walk there. Guess I won’t be going there anymore. How have others handled seeing their ex out in public? I mean, he has every right now that we are divorced, but geez…I’m so not ready for this!

Ugh that's just wrong! I'm sure there are other breweries he could visit that are not right down the street from your house! Does he live in the same neighborhood? I would try to set some boundaries with him, and respectfully ask him to stay out of your neighborhood. Hang in there!

I hope you have found some peace in this. I have yet to encounter my ex and his new soon to be husband in public, but I am not looking forward to it! They just announced their plans to marry, which I posted about in another thread. I think they're moving to another part of the city that I never frequent, at least!

I agree that my kids are absolutely the highlight of my marriage, and this whole situation has only improved my relationship with them as we have navigated it together.

I moved 3,000 miles away, so there aren't many opportunities for us to bump into one another. But, he does come to my city occasionally to visit our daughter.

I like to imagine he's the one who deserves to feel awkward, not me. I am not diverting my footsteps to walk around him.
