All good Lorax...New Zealand has moved from Level 4...EVERYTHING closed, everybody at home, to Level 3...some business like construction, cafes, takeaways open but with strict hygiene rules with children of essential workers only allowed back at school so for many the home-schooling continues.

My bisexual partner is like a flatmate, and we'll be in this enforced holding pattern until 'the planes are flying again'. With so much future economic uncertainty in NZ I may hold back from going forward in my SS journey

....New Zealand, in the next day or two...will decide whether to change the Level 3 status the country has been following and move to Level 2 which allows business to open with very strict rules and guidelines re public safety. It was a glorious day yesterday and people were out crowding the beaches and footpaths which is not what our PM Jacinda Adern wants. Social distance is a norm for most but sunshine and blue sky are hard to resist when you've been isolating for 5 weeks! NZ now has an anonymous website and phone line for people to call to report any 'misdemeanors'..people gathering socially....

Meanwhile I myself had a chance to experience my city's Covid19 response at our hospital, which at the moment has, as it's A&E reception, a series of tented partitions one has to go through to be treated. I'm okay....I had a rather bad SVT attack that was remedied with medication

I hope all Forum members & readers are holding up well

I’m sorry you had to deal with an SVT attack Elle, that’s so scary! I’m glad you have meds and are ok. Is it triggered by stress for you? I have mild episodes of heart racing, almost always triggered by stress, but so far I don’t need meds yet... but my normal checkup with the cardiologist was canceled due to covid, so we’ll see.

My state is still under stay at home orders. I may not be allowed to work until July or August. I guess it’s just as well because I still am teaching the kids at home through May.

I have an appointment with a cardiologist in June As for the cause....I've had SVTs for more years than I've had stress so not sure why I get them

I've finally been able to have time with my grandson after a 4 week stint of not seeing anyone. But I think he'll be back to school in a week which will take pressure of his parents

Am splitting my time between my own home & driving to my parents home 30 miles away to provide caregiving. It’s stressful because one parent has always had overwhelming mental health issues. My sibling has a milder form of the illness.
This must be so difficult for you. But what a good daughter you are. Are you the only home-help they have?
Mother’s Day was difficult as my parent was acting up and my sibling was emotionally abusive to them & me. They gave my mom a half-dead plant on Sunday out of spite. If I speak up about the abuse from both, I get blamed for causing trouble. Am sure this is why I took abuse from my GIDXH for so many years.
Omg! what did your mother do....say? What a heartbreaking thing to do..!!
Am grateful to be home alone today.
Gotta be strong to get through this right?
I hope all of you stay healthy... and strong if you’re still living with your non-straight spouses.

How is everybody?

New Zealand came out of a full Rahui..all confined to home 4 weeks ago, then Level 3 for 2 weeks, and now our drinking establishments, cafes (takeaway only), and primary schools have returned . Many have chosen to stay working from home. So many have lost their jobs.
I decided to support the national carrier....and fly down to see my sister, then on to see my daughter. We've been asked to keep track of where we go and when

Hey people I've been visiting family for almost 2 weeks. Haven't missed my partner at all , but it was my birthday half way thru my trip and he sent flowers to my sister's house. The next day I flew to my daughter's city and...lo and behold!....another bunch of flowers. He said in the note attached "if you haven't realised...you're being wooed". All the while he's 'wooing' I'm writing more of the story of our life together and how he ruined what I thought was going to be a wonderful future together. The last time he bought flowers was when I'd got back from another trip away. He seems to only be able to express himself remotely.

Anyway.....Covid19. New Zealand has just one confirmed case of Covid19 in the country. Our borders are still closed to foreigners (except the American film crew who flew in today and those NZ'ers coming home, who must do the required 14 day isolation). Covid19 contact tracing apps are the norm, social distancing still a requirement, tho groups of 100 may now gather.

Cross fingers we don't lapse and have to return to Rahui (lockdown) once more
