oh goodness I hadn't noticed they'd changed the banner.
LOL...I finally clicked that the word "trans" had been removed from the banner. I've realized that's how they work. Quietly, under the guide of inclusion and kindness.
Also I suppose being a charity, and beholden to the US government (tax free?)...ourpath had to remove the word to keep their tax free status.
Trans ideology has worked its way into government departments, schools, hospitals, universities (here in New Zealand too) and it's going to take a monumental effort to get rid of it because most people aren't even aware it's happening.

I always thought that addition was superfluous since we already mention LGBT+ which includes trans. While the federal government here has become whacky, we haven't had pressure.

I can separate the whacky* of a Trump government and the good moves to get transwomen out of women's spaces, sports etc, and I hope NZ is taking note.
I also think there's an ever-increasing gap between the lgb
... and the tq+ because the idea that transwomen are lesbians is preposterous.

okay, last try.
It is a cruel thing to do - take away the straight spouse forum but effectively that is what has happened when we lost our name. There are a lot of hurting straight spouses. I have done my best to keep this lifeline afloat.
I am angry that OurPath does not do everything in their power to help straight spouses find this site and am left to question their motives in buying it.
Give Us Our Name Back.

There was no survey? Or vote about the name change?
Yep... give straightspouses our name back

When I search "my wife is a lesbian support" in google the AI directs me to OurPath. The OurPath website is in the top three. If I search "my wife came out as a lesbian support" I don't see ourpath. It might be wise to consult a company that specializes in improving a websites searchability in search engines. The name is not that important. I didn't have any idea what a straight spouse was on D-day. The reason why there may be less activity now is because there are more or better options now for communication, such as Reddit (despite Reddit's obvious problems).

Speaking for yourself that's okay but a straightspouse is what I was. I'm not an ourpath. And yes I would eventually found this site but I believe we lost an identity when we let our word be substituted.

okay, I just did a few more searches and OurPath came up when I included the word support.
Yes it looks like there is quite a bit more on offer than when I was looking but the thing I noticed was that the numbers of new people arriving dropped dramatically when this forum was subsumed into OurPath and lost it's straight spouse network banner.and the numbers have not built back up and yet from the look of it there are more people not less turning to the internet for answers.
