I just wanted to ask people in this group that are in the sector of straight spouses who are dealing with a male to female transition of their husbands, what was your take on HRT? I believe wholeheartedly that HRT has changed who my husband was at his core. Obviously we realized they were going to be changes. But his personality is completely different and not for the better. Empathy gone, any amount of kindness basically gone, the amount of self-centeredness... It has increased exponentially on HRT. I genuinely believe that it is one of the factors in our impending divorce and why the divorce is going to be difficult and be drug through the courts. Do any of you have any experiences or thoughts with complete personality changes with HRT? I don't fully understand what the numbers are all about. My husband is seeing an endocrinologist at a university hospital and they keep telling him his numbers aren't high enough and now he's seeking to switch to injectable estrogen which is in short supply and is not covered by insurance. So even though I am being poked and prodded for every financial aspect of our home life, he plans to pay out of pocket for his injectable estrogen.
