I'm in MIQ, have been for 9 days and it's been okay. Good communication with my now more-flatmate-than-partner partner. Nothing bothering me.
But this morning there's an email on my partner and my shared email giving him (because it wasn't me) a NZ COVID Tracer verification code with "You received this email because you recently registered with us"

We registered months ago, both of us. Why would he want another Covid registration?

It was so out of left field and I will admit it triggered me. And instead of going full-trigger/self-analytical/pit of the stomach stuff I'm running it by you all because even though it sounds weird the maybe a simple explanation?

Elle

Not knowing how things are set up in NZ, I don't know what the significance of this email represents? Some sort of mobile app that can tell you if you've been in close proximity to a person who tested positive?

Elle is it feasible to just ask him if it is bothering you? I know it often isn't in our world.

I am not really a tech whiz - maybe he lost the password or the app stopped working.  If NZ rules have been tightened and venues are stricter than before about using the app he may have found he was unable to use it.  He might have found it easier just to reregister.  If he was up to anything nefarious he wouldn't have used your shared email would he?

If he is out and about while you are away and you were sharing a login and you are able to see where he has been on the app record, that would be a reason for him to reregister separately, but I don't know what your arrangement was or how the NZ app works in that respect.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you havent already thought. Your high alert reaction is a bit of a tell - the gut knows when its time Elle.

It was the statement ....."You received this email because you *recently registered* with us."....that made me think Um what? he registered months ago, why should he need another verification code?

I've come to the best soundingboard there is to talk with those who know all about this MF. I don't feel silly here

I emailed him straight away asking him about it...6hrs ago. He hasn't answered me and I won't ask again.

As for the password the Covid apps are internal and registered to each individuals phone, linked to ones NHS (National Health Service) number. So why he would need to register twice is beyond me

There may be a valid reason for this. Thank you all for being here

Your worried he was exposed to someone that had covid and registered?

They make bad roomates..even a stranger for a roommate would tell you basic information.

Might open a whole new can of worms - or does he just lose stuff?
