Just wanted to say I think the comments you make are spot on.

and the name you have chosen is evocative - it is a feeling of being left to twist in the wind.

That is what I wish I could say to those who stay in the MOMs - that is where they end up.  Invariably, imo.  My mother was 80 years old and frail when she left my narcissistic father.  Emotionally it was like she drew a warm blanket around her soul in the doing.
