My husband got HIV.  His cover story was that he'd gotten it from a rural clinic long before we were married. He had me believe that he was HIV-positive the whole time we were trying to start a family, before I was pregnant with our daughter, before I gave birth via c-section and breastfed our daughter for the first year.  I spent days being terrified that not only might I be HIV-positive myself, but that I'd actually given it to my daughter as well.

When I finally got the appointment to be tested the first thing the doctor told me was that my husband's cover story was BS.  But I can't forgive my husband for three days of torment, when he allowed me to believe that both I and our daughter could be infected.
