@lily do I understand correctly that you had male friends make passes at you, gay men as well and also lesbians?

Yes. Yes to the lesbians too. Closet lesbians. You have to appreciate I was in my late 50's and the last time I'd been in the dating pool was as a teenager. I've always enjoyed playing cards - I joined a bridge club.
The passes from two old friends happened before that. They were straight but there was nothing romantic about it - and both of them were like as soon as I didn't respond that was it for them, end of friendship, haven't seen either of them since.
So once I joined a bridge club I was meeting new people, eventually I realised the percentage of gays was high. I think you'd find the same on the golf course. 'Buddies' who play together regularly.
Anyway, I don't play golf, but do like playing bridge,
As well as the closet gays looking for a new wife there were several married lesbians who hit on me . I think that is over now as they've come to know me. I really am straight. I have also proved not to be a threat and they have accepted me socially in an inclusive way.
There are some straight couples I have come to like them a lot. Mainly though it is MOMs in the married couples and I think that is just par for the course in general life. It is painful to see them together but quite often it is just the abused straight spouse that I am interacting with at table and they are a great bunch. So are the openly gay.
