Pandemic Roll Call

How is everyone managing during these crazy times?

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

I haven't checked in for awhile but was happy to read your good news last night. Covid-19 makes contact with others difficult even without distance but having a special someone makes it easier to keep your spirits up and be thankful.

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

Thanks Abby. I live in NJ and both NJ and PA have had the worst restrictions of travel in the country so it is depressing as far as that stand point but someone to get through these times with makes it a little easier

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

We’re fine, other than getting on each other’s nerves from being in a 600 sq ft part of the temporary house we’re living in ( for 10+ years waiting to build 😑. My husband is responsible for the plans & he changed them so many times that the builder ‘fired’ my husband! 🤣. And, the first 8 years he was upstairs’ working’ on them, he was spending a lot of the time on the computer looking at porn, getting on dating sites & contacting men to set up sex meet ups 😬. So, if he had truly been working on the house plans, we’d be in our new house by now!
Anyway, I got off track...... I am at the Drs right now. It’s only the fourth time I’ve been out of the house since March 7th, and those have all been Dr appointments, too.  ......Due to immune system illnesses, pre diabetes & COPD, I’m really high risk for COVID. My Dr doesn’t even want me to go to church since everyone takes off their masks when they sit down. She said I should only go if EVERYONE was wearing one. That’s hard to come by.
So, this isn’t helping my husband & myself getting back in touch with our “old selves “ any faster. Not much fun going on. We don’t have children or grandchildren (makes sense 😉), so that leaves out that. We have two dogs, and we walk them, but not often enough.
But, even after my griping (sorry, I just sat in the car for a two hour ride to the Dr), things are actually better for the most part. I’ll try to post a more positive something later 😁.
Take care, everyone!

((((HUGS))))

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

New Zealand has had quite a few positive cases caught at the border in one of the Isolation hotels. A couple hundred mainly Russian fishermen flown in by a big company, which angered many people.  But money from a big company can buy anything (and we need the money lol)
We had a few cases in the community traced back to a cool-store company storing overseas frozen goods.
We've been asked to wear masks on public transport and when flying domestically. Other than those restrictions,.. Our housing market is going crazy with returning Kiwis buying up housing stock (sometimes sight unseen)
New Zealand must be one of the luckiest countries in the world. I feel safe here

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

We’re doing really well all things considered. My husband is working from home so we get to spend a lot more time together than usual and it’s been good for us. The kids are all doing virtual leaning so nobody gets out of the house often, but we have enough room that we aren’t stepping on one another’s toes. It seems cases are increasing here, but I have yet to know anyone in real life who has tested positive. I consider that very lucky.

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

We are used to go cruising the USA every year, usually somewhere between the pacific and the rockies. We already had the flight tickets for departure last spring... Bummer!
My "America the beautiful" pass has expired by now, but I keep it in my wallet as a reminder: next year we'll again gonna have a great time!

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

For the first time Christmas most likely won't be with all my children and grandchildren gathered in our house. Not going to church in the morning together with the whole lot. Nor the christmas diner, playing games in the evening. It's hard to accept this has to skip a year.
Coping the with the semi-lockdown had it's drawbacks, but it actually also had nice and possitive aspects to it. More time to spend together, also talking about our relation and by that processing further what we went through in the years behind us.
The total sum of all the turmoil that results from not alligned sexual orientation is quite a lot. Though we're through it and we reached solid ground, it still is something we think and talk about together, not like a confrontation, but to deepen our understanding of each other (and that's really okay!).
But still I wished a vaccin would have been available a few months earlier.
Hope for the future, next year it will be better again, my "expired America the beautiful pass" tells me so.

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

Dutchman,

I am in the US and when the vaccine does become available I think proof of vaccination will be required in order to go just about anywhere. Interesting to contemplate because many still say they will not get the vaccine at least not early on because they are distrustful of it.

Re: Pandemic Roll Call

When a vaccine becomes available, I’ll get it. I don’t see how it can hurt, anyway; even if it doesn’t help. At least you aren’t worse off.. I’ve been stuck in the house since March 7th & just hope a vaccine becomes available before i go bonkers! I’m really high risk & just can’t go out. I’ve been out 4 times- all to Doctors. Ughh. Boring. That’s one reason I’m on here more than I’d really want to be. It’s like Groundhog Day over & over ! Get up. Have coffee. Iisten to bible or AA CD’s while having coffee/ finally really get up ;)... start cleaning, etc...THAT’S the every day thing...cleaning, cleaning, cleaning *includes laundry, dishes, etc* .. John does help with the dishes and makes the bed in the morning anyway. But, I sometimes don’t even know what day of the week it is. It always seems like Saturday since he’s not getting that many jobs right now & is always here.
Sorry.... it’s getting to me. Had to get it out. Deep breath. & 😊.

Everyone stay safe!
