   If only it were only that they "cannot love us back."  Too often the fact of conflicting sexualities is accompanied by deception, deliberate cruelty, and a whole host of other damaging behaviors from gaslighting to blameshifting and beyond. 
   I do agree, though, that "unloving them" is a necessity, and contrary to what we may think, especially at first when we are still full of fear, hope, and reluctance to believe the truth, it is also possible.  And when they are engaging in cruel behavior toward us, they help us in our task of "unloving them."
